In a letter to the Catholic Leadership Conference, in Denver October 2016, Trump writes:
“I look forward to working with these two respected leaders of the Catholic Church in America, their brother bishops, and Congress, on issues of critical importance to the Catholic Church and Catholics.”
He continues to say:
“I have a message for Catholics: I will be there for you. I will stand with you. I will fight for you.”
Catholics involved in American politics have increased the last years. About a year ago, nearly one in three members of the Congress that Francis addressed during his US visit were Catholics.
Before the 2016 election, Donald Trump appears in a video, addressing Catholics.
”Catholics are an important part of the American story. America has been strengthened by hard working Catholics – from New York to California. The Catholic story is truly unique, and it’s a great story.”
Despite many well meaning and honest Catholics, the Catholic Church has a dark history, which Trump seems to ignore.
“This great antichristian power robbed the church of its gospel light and plunged the world into the Dark Ages….One thousand years covers the crest of the persecutions when from 50,000,000 to 150,000,000 martyrs died of the sword, at the stake, in dungeons, and of starvation because of the confiscation of their earthly possessions.”
– Bunch, Taylor, The Book of Daniel, 1950, p. 170, 185.
During the dark ages, many protestants fled to United States as a result of the Catholic persecution. For instance, in the beginning of 1630s, 20 000 Puritans fled from England to USA. Salzburgers (Lutherans) from Austria fled, after the Catholic archbishop expelled 20 000 of them. About the same time, 400 000 French Protestants emigrated to various parts of the world, including the British North American colonies.
The protestants that fled to United States were seeking freedom. The colonists wanted a chance to worship freely and choose their religion. But Bible Prophecy warns what was to take place after this.
“Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.” Revelation 13:11-13
A close study of Revelation 13 shows that America will cooperate with the Papacy (the first beast of Revelation 13), and “exercise all power” of it.
Trump continues, in his video:
“From marching for civil rights to educating millions of children, serving the poor and helping define the pro-life movement, clergy and lay Catholics across the country have made countless contributions to the American success and the American success story. Washington politicians have been hostile to the Church, they have been hostile to Catholics, they have been hostile to the members of Catholicism. My administration will stay side by side with the American Catholics, to promote the values we all share as Christians and Americans. God bless you, God bless the United States of America. We will make America great again.”
The newly elected president has various times stated that he wants to give the power back to the church, as we know from Bible Prophecy, will happen.
Friends, we don’t know when the end will come, but we can know, as we study God’s word that prophecy is fulfilling, and that Jesus is coming very soon. Don’t be fooled by what is to come. Be watchful, and make sure you surrender your life to God and become part of the group that “keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:12)
